Westfield Coach Expands Fitness Club Studios Along East Coast

WESTFIELD, NJ — Westfield fitness coach Sam Tooley is expanding his Alpha Fit Club brand across the East Coast.

Tooley, who was born and raised in Westfield, is the co-founder and CEO of Alpha Fit Club.

He opened his first Alpha Fit Club in his hometown of Westfield on April 27, 2019,

He said the studio quickly built "a strong, committed membership community almost immediately."

"After opening a small private and semi-private training space in Westfield, I saw a real opportunity: people wanted the energy and results of boutique group fitness, but they
also wanted a community and a workout that felt approachable, purposeful, and empowering," said Tooley. "Alpha Fit Club was created to deliver that—a high-energy, coach-led strength and conditioning experience that helps people believe in themselves both in and out of the gym."

Tooley connected the business to his own path in fitness, saying he grew up playing many sports and later found running to be an outlet in high school.

He said that experience led him into coaching, first locally with cross-country and track athletes, then online with endurance athletes.

He saw how fitness changes people's confidence, discipline and daily lives, which helped drive him to create a training space in Westfield and then expand it into a larger brand.

"A big part of this motivation came from my time running in high school," Tooley said. "I used the track as my outlet and it allowed me to channel my energy into a form and foundation of discipline that helped shape much of who I am today."

Alpha Fit now has 20 studios and is heading toward 30 by year-end, with expansion planned across the East Coast.

And another wave of openings is planned throughout 2027.

New markets listed by the company include West Palm Beach, Florida, Fairfield, Connecticut, Philadelphia and Chalfont, Pennsylvania, and Larchmont, New York.

"Alpha is much more than a place to get a workout in. We combine structured, progressive strength and conditioning programming with high-energy, coach-led group classes and a genuine sense of community. Every class is designed to challenge you, but also to meet you where you are—whether it's your first day training or you've been working out for
years," said Tooley.

Tooley described the feeling of being able to expand at a large scale as a "surreal and motivating feeling."

"What motivates me is the fact that we're expanding in communities that are hungry for challenging fitness experiences and deserve nothing less than what we know we can deliver," said Tooley.

Supporting that growth, Alpha Fit Club announced an exclusive partnership with PLAE, which designs and manufactures integrated performance environments.

According to the company announcement, PLAE will become Alpha Fit Club's exclusive performance partner for all newly awarded franchise locations, and the new performance package will debut at the Larchmont, New York location.

"Growth only matters if the experience improves along with it," said Tooley. "As we expand into new markets, we're committed to delivering the same premium training experience in every studio."

The company said existing studios and previously awarded franchise locations will continue operating with their current equipment packages, while new franchise sales moving forward will feature the PLAE performance environment as the brand standard.

PLAE will serve as the official performance partner of this year's Alpha Games Main Event at the American Dream in New Jersey on Oct. 3.
