NJ 5-Year-Old Critical After Falling Into Pool

The boy was removed from the pool by the neighbor and the boy's mother.

UNION, NJ — A five-year-old boy remains hospitalized in critical condition after falling into a pool on Sunday in Union Township, said Deputy Chief Barry Cohen.

On Sunday, Union Police went to 2454 N. 3rd St., where they found a neighbor in the backyard performing CPR on a five-year-old boy who had fallen into a pool at the child's home, said Cohen.

The boy was removed from the pool by the neighbor and the boy's mother.

The boy was non-responsive.

Officers immediately took over life-saving measures along with Union Firefighters and EMS personnel.

The child was taken to a local area hospital, where he remains in critical condition as of Tuesday.

The incident is currently under investigation.
