Lantern Hill's culinary team put its talents on display during the community's Top Chef competition on September 3.
Teams consisting of one chef and one line cook competed in a friendly culinary showdown at the Erickson Senior Living-managed retirement community in New Providence, New Jersey. Three judges evaluated each dish based on skill, presentation, and flavor.
After sampling an impressive array of creations and engaging in a spirited deliberation, the judges crowned Chef Conor Carolan and Line Cook Joe Sarubbi as the Top Chef champions. The winning duo impressed the judges with a menu featuring a Moroccan Spiced Carrot Appetizer and Seared Magret Duck Breast with Carrot Greens Pistou, Peaches, and a Cognac-Peach Pan Sauce.
Throughout the event, residents cheered on their favorite teams, creating a lively and festive atmosphere.
"This competition was a fantastic way to highlight the creativity and skill of our dining team while giving residents an opportunity to come together and enjoy an exciting community event," said Director of Dining Kate Stewart.
Each of Lantern Hill's six on-site restaurants features its own distinct menu and atmosphere.
