Multiple DWI, Warrant Arrests Reported In Westfield

Westfield Police released its blotter for the past week.

WESTFIELD, NJ — Multiple DWI and warrant arrests were reported in Westfield, along with fraud and shoplifting.

On Aug. 30 at 9:53 a.m.: Officers received a 911 call regarding a man who appeared to be unconscious while seated in the driver's seat of a motor vehicle at Prospect Street and Trails End Court. Officers made contact with the driver, Ulysess Ivey, 66, of South River, who appeared to be impaired by alcohol and/or drugs. Upon further investigation, Ivey was arrested for driving while intoxicated. He was also charged with possession of CDS and possession of drug paraphernalia. Ivey was processed and released on a complaint summons to a sober adult.

On Sept. 1 at 6:12 p.m.: Dennis Mahoney, 78, of Westfield, was placed under arrest for driving while intoxicated pursuant to a roadside DWI investigation in the area of the Northside Train Station Parking Lot. Mahoney was issued summonses for operating under the influence of liquor or drugs) and reckless driving.

On Sept. 2 at 9:35 p.m.: Pursuant to a traffic stop at Central Avenue and Green Place, James Bruno, Jr., 40, of Linden, was arrested on the strength of two outstanding warrants out of Newark for $10,000 and the Hudson County Sheriff's Office for $6,081.86. Bruno was taken to Westfield Police Headquarters for arrest processing. He was released on his own recognizance by the Newark Municipal Court and turned over to the Hudson County Sheriff's Office in lieu of posting the requisite bail.

On Sept. 3 at 10:02 a.m.: A resident of the 500 block of Saint Marks Avenue reported being the victim of fraud. The resident states they have been receiving mail from unknown suspects' registered vehicles and insuring them using the victim's address.

On Sept. 4 at 9:09 p.m.: Esther B. Siocha, 23, of Roselle, was arrested on the strength of one outstanding ATS warrant issued by the Roselle Park Municipal Court for $500 pursuant to a traffic stop at Central Avenue and Sussex Street. She was released on her own recognizance at the scene of the traffic stop and ordered to appear before the Court at a specified date and time.

On Sept. 5 at 1:31 a.m.: Officers conducted a motor vehicle stop on John Dreisbach, 2nd, 32, of Berkeley Heights, at W. North Avenue and Crossway Place. He was arrested for DWI pursuant to a roadside investigation, taken to Westfield Police headquarters, where he was processed and released to a sober adult.

On Sept. 5 at 2:45 p.m.: An unknown man entered a business located on the 200 block of East North Avenue and took cleaning products and personal hygiene products, valued at approximately $300, without paying. The subject entered a vehicle and fled the area prior to police arrival.
