WESTFIELD, NJ — Westfield approved two public works resolutions totaling $1 million tied to a roof replacement at the Department of Public Works building and the completion of the town's fuel system transition.
Mayor Jeremy Berman called the DPW roof replacement "long planned" at the Oct. 6 Council meeting.
The Town Council approved a resolution for the roof replacement at the Westfield Public Works Center for $247,995 submitted by Reliance Remodeling LLC of Saddle Brook.
A second resolution was approved by the Town Council for the change order for Westfield's fueling station system project.
According to the resolution, the original contract was awarded on June 24, 2025, for a new fueling station system, including removal and replacement of the current surface system and underground storage tanks.
The document states that estimated quantities of gasoline and diesel fuel, stone, and contaminated soil for removal and disposal changed based on field conditions.
As a result, the town says a change order is required to amend the original contract from $888,530 to $896,915.75, an increase of $8,385.75.
T. Slack Environmental Services of Kenilworth is the contractor that submitted the proposal for the change order.
