WESTFIELD, NJ — A Westfield home on Lenox Avenue is moving through the town's historic preservation process after the Town Council introduced an ordinance to designate 625 Lenox Avenue as a historic landmark.

According to General Ordinance No. 2026-20, property owners Ken Mirsky and Andrea Silkowitz applied to the Westfield Historic Preservation Commission to have the home designated as a historic landmark.

The ordinance states that the commission gave "full and complete consideration" to the petition under the town's Historic Designation and Preservation Ordinance.

The ordinance states that the mayor and Town Council agree the property meets the criteria for local historic designation under Westfield's Historic Designation and Preservation Ordinance and New Jersey Municipal Land Use Law Section 40:55D-26.

If adopted, the designation would be reflected on the town's zoning map.

The designation is now subject to Planning Board review, according to Mayor Jeremy Berman.
