Blood Drives To Support Breast Cancer Patients Held In Union County
The American Red Cross is hosting a blood drive in Summit, Westfield and Union to support cancer patients and others.

UNION COUNTY, NJ — October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and the American Red Cross is encouraging eligible donors to give blood to support cancer patients and others.
According to the American Cancer Society, nearly 1.7 million new cases of cancer are expected in the U.S. this year. Breast cancer is the most common cancer among women, with nearly 253,000 women expected to be diagnosed in 2017. Cancer patients may need blood products during chemotherapy, surgery or treatment for complications.

Oct. 16: 2 to 7 p.m., American Red Cross, 695 Springfield Ave., Summit
Oct. 17: 11:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., Kean University Miron Student Center, 1000 Morris Ave., Union
