Blue Christmas at FUMC Westfield

Join us on Friday, December 21st at 6:30 PM for Blue Christmas - A Service of Remembrance and Hope.

Blue Christmas - A Service of Remembrance and Hope

First United Methodist Church Westfield will be holding a Blue Christmas service on Friday, December 21st at 6:30 PM. This service is a recognition that the holiday season is not always bright and merry for all. Memories of grief, loss, and separation can overwhelm us. As such, we invite all who are able to join us for worship - those who are in need of support and those who are able to give support - to come and remember what we have lost in the context of hope for renewal and faith in Jesus Christ. The sanctuary will be open for reflection and prayer time with peaceful live music from 4:00 until the service starts at 6:30, and will remain open following the service until 8:00 for quiet reflection time.

This is a ministry for our whole community. In worship on the 9th, we blessed hats made by the prayer shawl group to give to those who attend Blue Christmas service and in worship on the 16th we will make and bless luminaries for use at the service and on Christmas Eve. We hope you will join us for this powerful and moving service.

Christmas Eve services will be held at FUMC Westfield at 10:00 AM, 5:00 PM, 7:00 PM, and 11:00 PM. We invite you to visit ChristmasInWestfield.com for more information about holiday events happening in town and at FUMC.
