Burglars Break Open House Window, Steal Keys And SUV In Wesfield
Three burglars in face masks and gloves were also seen on video using a crowbar trying to break into another home in Westfield as well: Cops
WESTFIELD, NJ — Car theft, attempted home burglary, a DWI arrest, and more were reported recently in Westfield.
Westfield Police Blotter – Dec. 22 to Dec. 28:
On Dec. 23 at 9:37 p.m.: Officer Marlow conducted a motor vehicle stop in the 500 block of East North Avenue. Through his investigation, the driver of the vehicle, Sean Healy, 56, Westfield, was placed under arrest for driving while intoxicated. Healy was taken to Westfield Police Headquarters where he was processed and released to a sober adult.

On Dec. 24 at 3:19 a.m.: A burglary attempt was made to a home in the 900 block of Tice Place. Officers went to the home after a report of an alarm activation. Video surveillance from the home showed three actors wearing dark clothing, face masks and gloves in the backyard. Actors tried to enter the home using a crowbar to a rear kitchen window. Actors fled the scene after being unsuccessful.
On Dec. 25 at 6:48 a.m.: A resident of the 200 block of Twin Oaks Terrace reported a burglary to their home sometime overnight, as well as the theft of their 2024 BMX X7M. At an unknown time, suspects entered the home through a locked window. The keys to the BMW were taken, as well as numerous credit cards and a jacket.

On Dec. 26 at 1:37 a.m.: Officer Bace conducted a motor vehicle stop at the intersection of Central Avenue and South Avenue for the registered owner Sharice Brunson, 31, Roselle, having an active warrant for traffic offenses. Brunson was confirmed to be the driver and the warrant out of Roselle was for $249. Brunson was given a new Roselle Municipal Court date and released on her own recognizance at the scene.
On Dec. 26 at 12:09 p.m.: A resident of the 600 block of Hanford Place reported being the victim of fraud. They said a fraudulent withdrawal from their checking account was made for $4,800. This transaction happened at an ATM in Scottsdale, AZ.
On Dec. 27 at 2 a.m.: Sgt. Weiss arrested Justin Chambliss, 23, Westfield for driving while intoxicated following a motor vehicle stop investigation on Orchard Street and Mountain Avenue. Chambliss was issued motor vehicle summonses with a mandatory Westfield Municipal Court appearance date of Jan. 7, and then released on his own recognizance to a sober adult.
On Dec. 27 at 3:20 p.m.: A resident of Garwood reported a theft that had just occurred from the 800 block of Rahway Avenue. The victim states that he left a pair of pink-colored Nike Dragonfly track cleats in an isolated area on the 800 block of Rahway Avenue. The victim was away from the items for a short time and found them to be missing upon his arrival back at the location. The cleats have a value of $150.
On Dec. 30 at 12:29 a.m.: Peterson Delice, 41, Plainfield, was arrested following a motor vehicle stop in the area of East South Avenue, near the intersection of Windsor Avenue, after he was found to have an outstanding Middlesex County Sheriff's Office NCIC No Bail Warrant, in addition to outstanding Elizabeth Municipal Contempt of Court Warrants totaling $7,750, and a Roselle Municipal Contempt of Court Warrant totaling $500. Delice was processed and subsequently turned over to the custody of the Middlesex County Sheriff's Office.
