Burglary, Shoplifting Reported At Westfield Businesses
A Westfield local was among those arrested for shoplifting at a town business, according to the police blotter.

WESTFIELD, NJ — Westfield Police reported multiple burglaries and shoplifting arrests at local businesses.
On May 27 at 9:35 a.m.: A business located on the 200 block of Central Avenue was reported to have been burglarized. Someone gained entry through a locked rear door and then rummaged through areas inside. Nothing appears to have been stolen. The burglary occurred sometime overnight on May 26 to 27.
On May 27 at 10:50 a.m.: After police responded to another call, they discovered an attempted burglary occurred to a business on the 200 block of East North Avenue. Someone tried to get in through the rear door but was unsuccessful.

On May 19 at 7:35 p.m.: Scott Desch, 44, of Westfield was arrested for shoplifting following a criminal investigation in the 600 block of West North Avenue. He was transported to headquarters, processed and released on summonses.
On May 22 at 6:19 p.m.: Javier Ojeda-Aguilar, 21, of Scotch Plains for shoplifting following an investigation in the 600 block of West North Avenue. He was transported to headquarters, processed and released with a court date.

On May 30 at 9:09 p.m.: Anna Villena, 45, of Elizabeth was arrested for shoplifting at a business in the 200 block of E North Avenue. During processing, she was found to be in possession of crack cocaine, heroin and drug paraphernalia. She was processed and released on summonses.
