This lecture explores the way in which American landscape painting helped establish a national identity, while also providing commentary on the relationship between nature and humanity. Marvel at the works of Thomas Cole, Frederic Edwin Church, and Albert Bierstadt, and others, as we celebrate our nation’s history and natural beauty.
Presenter Mallory Mortillaro, art historian and educator, has ten years of teaching experience, and has worked on various art research projects for museums and organizations in the New York metropolitan area. She studied at Drew University.
