Explore 3D printing with this free introductory class for beginners. Emerging Technologies Librarian Genny Girvan will talk about how 3D printers work, what kinds of projects can be made with 3D printers, and how to get started with designing your own 3D files to print. 
This workshop will include an introduction to <a href="https://www.tinkercad.com/" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">Autodesk Tinkercad</a>, a free web-based 3D modeling software. Union County Torah Center-Chabad

The Union County Torah Center–Chabad will present “Collective Punishment,” an online class delivered by Rabbi Levi Block, on Wednesday, October 28, 2026, at 7:30 p.m. via Zoom.
Presented as part of the center’s “Exploring Timeless Jewish Wisdom for Everyday Life” series, the class will examine what the Torah teaches about collective punishment, justice, and communal responsibility.
What does the Torah really say about entire communities suffering for the sins of a few? From Egypt to the Golden Calf, biblical accounts raise challenging questions about individual actions and their consequences for the wider community.
This class explores these surprising cases, examining when punishment is truly justified and how one person’s actions can affect an entire nation.
Participants will discover how the Torah addresses the relationship between individual and communal responsibility, and what its teachings reveal about justice and the moral limits of collective punishment in wartime.

When the staff at Imagine, A Center for Coping with Loss, first created their webinar “How to Talk to Kids about Death and Dying,” they were met with a nationwide response. The overwhelming number of registrants highlighted a critical, widespread need for accessible, grief-informed education.
Participants shared how grateful they were for these practical skills, noting how helpful they've been not just in times of loss, but across all areas of parenting.
To ensure continued free access to this essential information, Imagine will host the webinar again on Thursday, October 29, from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM as a convenient "Lunch and Learn" opportunity.
Those attending the webinar will learn to:
·Recognize the importance of normalizing conversations about death and dying with kids
·Describe opportunities to develop children's understanding of death
·Identify concrete tools and language to use in these conversations
This dedicated program offers community members an opportunity to understand the unique needs of children who are grieving and learn how to support them with compassion and honesty. Imagine's staff invites parents, educators, coaches, youth leaders, and all community members who care for children to attend and gain these vital skills.

<h3>Witch Broom Making Workshop Comes to Downtown Westfield!</h3>
Galeria "The Art Venue" in downtown Westfield will host a Witch Broom Making Workshop led by Dr. Nathalia Ochoa, an Assistant Professor at Kean University.
This hands-on community workshop invites participants to explore their creativity while making their own witch brooms using natural elements and meaningful adornments. While they make lovely decorative pieces, the process of creating one offers an opportunity for reflection and personal expression!
As part of the experience, Dr. Ochoa will guide participants through a mindful writing exercise centered around three questions: What am I ready to release? What do I want to protect? What do I want to welcome into my life? Participants will then have the opportunity to incorporate these reflections into their creations.
The workshop is designed to be a welcoming space for anyone interested in trying something new, regardless of artistic experience. Participants are also encouraged to bring a small keepsake or charm they would like to incorporate into their creation.
