Community Forums On Westfield Schools' Budget To Be Held

The district is hosting multiple in-person and remote community engagement sessions for the public to learn more about the budget.

WESTFIELD, NJ — Multiple in-person and remote Community Engagement Sessions are being held to inform the public about the Westfield Public School District's 2023-24 budget which includes a tax increase for town residents.

The public will be voting on the proposed budget of $123,694,252 for the 2023-24 school year for the first time in 13 years.

  • April 11, 6 to 7 p.m. / All Westfield Community (In-Person - Edison Intermediate School)
  • April 13, 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. / Lifelong Westfield (In-Person - Westfield Public Library)
  • April 17, 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. / WHS PTSO Session (Remote)
  • April 19, 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. / Intermediate PTSO Session (Remote)
  • April 20, Noon to 1 p.m. / All Westfield Community (Remote)

Residents will be voting on two questions about the budget. The first question will ask voters to approve the base school district operating budget at a 3.95 percent tax levy cap and the second question will ask voters to approve adding additional staff for a .89 percent increase.
