WESTFIELD, NJ — Congressman Leonard Lance (NJ-07) announced that he agrees with President Donald Trump's decision to end the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program on Tuesday. The Obama-era policy protected about 800,000 undocumented immigrants who arrived in the United States as minors from being deported.

“Like many of my colleagues I agree that President Obama exceeded his Constitutional authority and disregarded existing law to implement his plan for undocumented immigrants," Lance said in a statement. "Today President Trump has called on Congress to act and rightfully so."

Lance continues on to say that he will be cosponsoring legislation that would "provide a workable, permanent legislative solution for those individuals who entered our country unlawfully as children with their undocumented parents."
