Crash Kills Union County Pedestrian After SUV Hits Woman

ELIZABETH, NJ — A 64-year-old Elizabeth woman died after she was struck by an SUV late Saturday night on Newark Avenue, according to police.

Authorities said Donna Bass, of Elizabeth, was hit by the SUV at approximately 11:30 p.m. The vehicle then crashed into a parked car, police said.

Bass was taken to a nearby hospital, where she later died from her injuries.

Police said the driver stopped at the scene and has not been charged at this time.

Officials did not immediately release additional details about the circumstances surrounding the crash.
