Deadline To Vote In Westfield School Board Election Nears
Union County Board of Elections is reminding residents of the upcoming voter registration deadline on March 25.
WESTFIELD, NJ — Westfield voters have until Tuesday, March 25 to register for the April 15 Annual School Board Election, announced the Union County Board of Elections.
The Westfield school board election has four candidates vying for three open seats.
Below is a list of the candidates with their slogan (an asterisk designates an incumbent):

- Robert Benacchio - "For Our Families"*
- Kristen Sonnek Schmelz - "Excellence in Education"*
- Violetta Watson - "Putting Kids First"
- Mary Wickens - (no slogan)*
The election will be held on April 15. Voters will not only be choosing candidates but they will also be asked to vote on the district's annual budget and bond referendum.
The following secure ballot drop boxes for the Westfield Annual School Board Election will open on March 28 for voters wishing to return their mail-in ballot using the drop box:

- Union County Administration Building – 10 Elizabethtown Plaza, Elizabeth
- Union County Board of Elections – 271 North Broad Street, Elizabeth
