UNION COUNTY, NJ — Democrats swept the election for Union County level seats, winning the sheriff and freeholder spots.
Union County Sheriff:
There were two candidates vying for one three-year seat as Union County Sheriff.

Democrat Peter Corvelli of Kenilworth won with 64,792 votes over republican Marc A. Krauss of Springfield 33,463 votes.
Union County Freeholder:

On the county level, six candidates were vying for three three-year term seats for freeholder.
Democratic incumbents Angel Estrada of Elizabeth received 62,794 votes and Christopher Hudak of Linden got 61,924 votes and newcomer democrat Angela R. Garretson of Hillside got 61,166 votes to win over republicans Patricia Quattrocchi of Clark with 34,302 votes, P. Mark Martini of Westfield with 34,252 and Peter B. Lijoi of Summit with 33,710 votes.
Results are unofficial until certified by the Union County Clerk and do not include absentee ballots.
