The Downtown Westfield Corporation is proud to join Williams-Sonoma, Inc. in its efforts to end childhood hunger by raising awareness and funds for No Kid Hungry, a national campaign to end childhood hunger in America.

“The Downtown Westfield Fall Foodie Stroll highlights tasty specialties throughout downtown Westfield’s diverse eateries,” said Downtown Westfield Executive Director Bob Zuckerman. “We hope to see families, couples and friends sampling some of the best of downtown Westfield’s delicious offerings — and we hope they come back soon to try out the new dishes they’ve discovered. Williams-Sonoma Westfield brought us the idea of partnering with them in their well-established efforts to end childhood hunger and we were immediately on board. We are donating the proceeds from the registration fee for this event to the local branch of the nonprofit No Kid Hungry.”

Pick up prepaid wristbands and maps on the day of the event, Oct. 4, in front of Williams Sonoma, 127 Central Ave. Westfield. Stroll throughout downtown Westfield sipping and sampling the best bites from over 15 participating eateries. Pay as you go with sample-sized pricing.

Registration will be open to only 400 participants during two time slots, 12 to 2 p.m. and 2 to 4 p.m.

Cash will be required at each restaurant to enhance transaction speed. The average price per item is $5.

Masks are required while strolling. Tables will be provided to sit and eat.

Additionally, the Westfield Green Team, Downtown Westfield Corporation and Town Council announced the installation of demonstration bike lanes on one side of Prospect Avenue leading downtown between Oct. 2 and 4. These pop-up bike lanes coincide with the Downtown Westfield’s Fall Foodie Stroll on Sunday, Oct. 4, and participants are encouraged to “Ride the Pop-Up” to the Fall Foodie Stroll where they will be met by volunteers from the Green Team who will offer secure valet bike parking at the North Avenue train station to bicyclists during the event. The three-day pop-up bike lane project will consist of bike lanes marked with traffic cones between Franklin School and Dudley and permanent bike lane signs between Dudley and E. Broad. Parking will be prohibited in areas marked with traffic cones.

“This is going to be a fun event,” states Bob Zuckerman, “Ride your bike downtown, bike parking will be easy. Walk, eat, drink, socialize and feel good about contributing to a worthy cause. This event brings together all the best of downtown Westfield.”
