A drunk N.J. man was speeding when he crashed on an NYC highway and killed two people this weekend, police said.
A drunk N.J. man was speeding when he crashed on a highway and killed two people on Sunday, police said. Andrew Shakespeare, 33, of Roselle caused a four-vehicle crash in Queens that killed his two passengers and left seven others hurt, according to ABC7.
Shakespeare was speeding west on the Grand Central Parkway in Jamaica Estates when he lost control of a 2014 BMW SUV and crossed several lanes, according to the report.
Shakespeare struck two vehicles before hitting the guard rail and crossing into the eastbound lanes. The SUV then struck a third car, causing that vehicle and Shakespeare's SUV to overturn, according to nj.com.

The driver and seven people in the three other vehicles were hurt, WABC-7 said.
Shakespeare faces charges of manslaughter, DWI and reckless driving, according to the report. The deceased have been identified as 34-year-old Layon Campbell and 16-year-old Akeam Grant, both of Brooklyn.

The highway was shut down for hours after the incident and caused residual delays that lasted well into the evening on New York City highways.
