DWI Arrests, Theft, Fraud Reported In Westfield

Westfield Police recently released its blotter for the past week.

WESTFIELD, NJ — DWI arrests, fraud and theft were among the things reported in the recent Westfield Police blotter.

Westfield Police Blotter – March 2 to March 8:

On March 3 at 1:42 a.m.: Robenson Colin, 38, of Elizabeth, was arrested on the strength of a Westfield warrant for burglary and criminal mischief after a brief investigation stemming from a burglary to a business in Westfield in the 400 block of Central Avenue. Colin was processed and later taken to the Essex County Jail in lieu of bail.

On March 3 at 1:11 p.m.: A resident of Scotch Plains reported to the Westfield Police that they were a victim of theft. According to the victim, while shopping at a store in the 100 block of Elm Steet, a cell phone was stolen from their shopping cart that was left unattended.

On March 4 at 4:54 p.m.: A resident reports that an unknown male suspect offered to help them in using their debit card at a local bank ATM in the 100 block of Elm Street. After attempting a transaction, the victim unknowingly took back possession of a different debit card from the suspect, at which time the suspect left the area. The unknown male suspect then used the victim's debit card to make a fraudulent ATM withdrawal of $2,000.

On March 7 at 11:04 a.m.: Jonathan Guamansimbaina, 18, of Irvington, was placed under arrest for driving under the influence pursuant to a motor vehicle stop in the area of Ferris Place and Clark Street. Guamansimbaina was taken to police headquarters, where he was processed and released with a mandatory Westfield Municipal Court date.

On March 7 at 3:02 p.m.: A resident in the 700 block of Highland Avenue reported that she was a victim of fraudulent charges on her credit card account. The resident stated that unknown actor(s) made fraudulent charges without her approval or authorization. The total amount of unauthorized credit card charges is $330.

On March 8 at 2:47 p.m.: Argelis Silverioalmonte, 35, of Elizabeth, was placed under arrest on the strength of an outstanding traffic warrant out of the Florence Township Municipal Court for $750 as a result of a motor vehicle stop at W. South Avenue and Drake Place. He was released on his own recognizance after being processed at the scene.

On March 8 at 10:22 p.m.: Officers were dispatched to the area of the 600 block of West South Avenue for a report of a single-vehicle motor vehicle collision. An on scene investigation led to the arrest of David Glasker, 72, of Westfield, for driving while intoxicated. Glasker was placed under arrest, taken to police headquarters, processed, and released on a summons to a sober party.
