Electrical Fire Breaks Out At Westfield Home
The two-story building had flames throughout.
WESTFIELD, NJ — A family's home was on fire Wednesday morning due to an electrical issue, the Westfield Fire Department said.
At around 8:30 a.m., firefighters responded to a report of a structure fire in the 300 block of St. Johns Pl. Officials found smoke showing from the second-floor of the two-story home.
All residents were immediately confirmed to be safe and out of the building. No injuries were reported, officials said.

Crews found the main source of the fire in the interior wall of the home, with flames spreading between both floors.
The fire was "quickly extinguished" before salvage and overhaul of the property was carried out.

A Cranford ladder truck, along with cover assistance from Union County Fire Mutual Aid, aided with the response.
The Westfield Fire Prevention Bureau concluded that the fire was caused by an electrical component on-site.
The Fire Department reminded town residents to check smoke alarms monthly and that all units should be less than 10 years old.
