Author Visit at The Town Book Store

Meet Tom Davis, author of A Legacy of Madness: Recovering My Family from Mental Illness  The story of a loving family coming to grips with its own fragilities, A Legacy of Madness relays Tom Davis's journey to uncover, and ultimately understand, the history of mental illness that led generations of his suburban American family to their demise.

Tom Davis is the Jersey Shore regional editor at Patch.com which is owned by AOL. He was an award-winning editor and reporter who covered transportation in New Jersey for The Bergen Record and The Star-Ledger. "A Legacy of Madness" is his first book. He was one of six people in the nation to win the Rosalynn Carter Mental Health Journalism Fellowship in 2004.  Tom Davis was named "Citizen of the Year" by the New Jersey Psychiatric Association in 2007. He has also received an ambassador award from the New Jersey Governor’s Council on Stigma in 2008.
