Dan Schlossberg to Speak - Temple Emanu-El of Westfield

It seems like yesterday that David Freese broke the hearts of Texas Rangers fans with a two out, two strike triple that denied them their first world series championship and helped propel the never say die Cardinals to an amazing 10-9 victory in what some people call the greatest postseason game ever.  For baseball fans winter can’t end soon enough and by Sunday morning March 18, 2012 fans of the national pastime will be chomping at the bit for the 2012 season.

The Temple Emanu-El of Westfield Men’s Club invites anyone who can’t wait for Spring to hear one of America’s top baseball writers, Dan Schlossberg give fans an insider’s view of what to expect in 2012 at an event which will be from 9 am - 11 am at Temple Emanu-El on Broad Street in Westfield.  Admission is $5 and includes bagels, eggs and other refreshments.

Schlossberg, who has written 35 baseball books and is busy working on two more, will have just returned from covering spring training and will give baseball starved fans the lowdown on how their teams are shaping up for the new season.  Schlossberg also will give attendees an insider’s view of the winter meetings, which he attended in December at Dallas.  There will also be a trivia contest with great prizes for baseball fans and specially discounted prices of many of his books, which includes a tremendous biography of all members of the 300 win club.  Schlossberg will also sign specially-discounted copies of his books, including The 300 Club: Has Baseball Seen the Last of Its 300-Game Winners?  He is also the co-author of Designated Hebrew: the Ron Blomberg Story, which will have a new paperback edition in 2012.
