SARA Cats to speak at Westfield Memorial Library about cat and kitten care

Westfield Memorial Library presents program on cat care

 (April 18, 2011) – The Westfield Memorial Library located at 550 East Broad Street opens the month of May with a program suitable for adults and children. On Saturday, May 7 at 2:00 p.m., the Summit Animal Rescue Association, Inc. (SARA) presents a program on cat and kitten care.

 SARA, which is a cat and dog rescue and foster group, speaks about the care of cats and kittens. The adoption chairperson for the group, who is known as Betty B, discusses the answers to questions such as: cat and kitten behavior: what is your pet trying to tell you; when and what shots should they be getting at the vet’s; what are the health benefits to keeping cats indoors instead of letting them go outside; when and why should they be spayed or neutered; and how and when do you trim feline nails and care for their teeth.

SARA rescues hundreds of cats and kittens every year, holds adoption days at Petco and other local pet stores, and provides foster care within a network of local homes.

This program is open to MURAL and Westfield Memorial Library cardholders. (MURAL cardholders belong to libraries that are part of the Middlesex Union Reciprocal Agreement Libraries.
