"THE WITCHES"

"Do you believe in witches?  I don’t mean the witches that wear silly black hats and cloaks, and ride on broomsticks.  But this is not a fairy tale.”  Such begins the amazing book, The Witches, by Roald Dahl, which will be brought to the stage by a cast and crew of nearly one hundred Edison Intermediate School students, November 3rd through November 5th.  In his ninth fall drama at EIS, Michael Altmann, who is also a drama and public speaking teacher, directs a cast of sixth, seventh and eighth grade students, including Emma Ohlig, Bri Litchholt, Celine Fitzpatrick, Catherine Barry, Alix Wheatman,  Danielle Gabuzda,Olivia Kuzman,Jake Lorenzo and Ben Friedman as they present a chilling legend promising to scare you, delight you, and make you think a little more about the tales you were told as a child. 

Performances are November 3rd at 4:00 p.m., November 4th at 7:30 p.m. and November 5th at 7:30 p.m.  The Thursday matinee is a special presentation for elementary school students accompanied by their parents and senior citizens, with tickets available at the door for $5.00.  Purchase reserved seating tickets for the evening performances for $9.00 at the door or in advance for $5.00. 

All performances will take place at Edison Intermediate School located at: 800 Rahway Avenue in Westfield, NJ.
