Set in 1977 in a provincial town, “Potiche” is a witty and charming comedy starring Catherine Deneuve as Suzanne Pujol, a housebound 'trophy wife' (or potiche) who steps in to manage an umbrella factory run by her tyrannical husband after the workers go on strike. To everyone's surprise, Suzanne proves herself a competent and assertive woman of action.

Gerard Depardieu plays a union leader and Suzanne's ex-beau who still holds a flame for her. With “Potiche,” acclaimed writer-director Francois Ozon (“Swimming Pool,” “8 Women”) has created a satirical and hilarious take on the war between the sexes and classes (amazon.com).

In the wake of a wild bachelor party, Fredrik discovers his passion for synchronized swimming in “Swimsuit Issue.” After convincing his floorball teammates to join him as Sweden's only all-male team, the team sets their sights on the world championships in this oddball, comedic tale of courage, triumph and gender role reversal (Written by Palm Springs International Film Festival).

“Bride Flight” is a lavish romantic drama that charts the lives of three different women from different backgrounds, forever changed when they immigrate to New Zealand as war brides. Eager to escape the gloom of post-war Holland, shy but sensual farm girl Ada, dogmatic Marjorie, and Jewish fashion designer Esther become friends during the 1953 KLM flight that carried war brides to their waiting husbands, who have already settled in Christchurch.

They part ways upon arrival in their new country and begin their new lives, but their paths continue to cross in the years to come. Chance meetings result in love affairs, betrayal and impenetrable bonds, leading up to a final reunion fifty years later (amazon.com).
