The Westfield Recreation Department is now taking registration for their fall classes that start in October.

 On Mondays, the department is offering “Rock N’ Rec”.  These music classes include: Intro to Rock Instruments (ages 7+/ 6-6:45 pm), Intro to Guitar (ages 8-11 / 7 – 7:45 pm), Teen Guitar (ages 12+ / 8 – 8:45 pm) and Lil Music Makers (ages 3-6 / 10-10:45 am & 1:30-2:15 pm).

 Enrichment classes are offered in a variety of areas.  Jr. Scientist workshops are Monday for ages 5-8 / 5-5:45 pm  & on Fridays for Pre-K 3:30 – 4:15 pm / K-1 4:30 – 5:15 pm / grades 2-5 5:30 – 6:15 pm.  Little Bakers for ages 5 –10 will be offered on Wednesdays 4:30 –5:15 pm.

Two new classes being offered for ages 5-10 are Creative Art Lab on Tuesday 4:30 –5:15 pm and Storytelling & Illustrations on Tuesdays 5:30 – 6:15 pm.  To register for any of these classes please go to Smartycat Kids at www.smartycatkids.com.

Engineering FUNdamentals with LEGO is a new program being offered.  This class is for grades 2-6 on Thursdays 3:30-5pm.  The program applies real-word concepts in physics, engineering and architecture through engineer-designed projects while using over 100,000 pieces of LEGO.

New for teens this Fall on Tuesdays is “My Fair Lady” a teen image program for girls ages 11-13 (3:30–5 pm) and ages 14 -16 (5:30 –7 pm).  This program helps young ladies boost their confidence & enhance their image through topics such as skincare, make-up application, social etiquette, wardrobe coordination, assertive communication and more.
