Union Man Killed Father, Prosecutors Say
The 59-year-old Union father's body was found inside a Van Ness Terrace home that caught fire on Monday, authorities report.

UNION, NJ — A Union Township man has been arrested and charged with fatally stabbing his father. The body was discovered following a fire on the 1500 block of Van Ness Terrace, acting Union County Prosecutor Grace H. Park announced Tuesday.
Jeff Adams, 20, is charged with murder and related weapons offenses in connection with the death of 59-year old Michael Adams.
The fire broke out around 11:45 a.m. at a Union Township home on May 8 where Irvington Fire Department and Union Township police and fire responded.

Inside the home, first responders found Michael Adams where he was pronounced dead at the scene shortly thereafter, according to Union County Assistant Prosecutor Melissa Spagnoli, who is prosecuting the case.
Jeff Adams turned himself in to Union Police Department authorities early Monday afternoon, and he was lodged in Union County Jail. He is expected to have a first appearance in court later this week.
