Firefighters Battle Car Fire Near Westfield Home

The fire was reported on Sunday afternoon.

WESTFIELD, NJ — A car caught fire near a home in Westfield prompting emergency officials to respond on Sunday.

At around 12:30 p.m., the Westfield Fire Department was dispatched to the 700 block of Knollwood Terrace for a report of an active fire.

Within minutes of dispatch, fire and police department members arrived to find a vehicle fire next to a structure, said Westfield Fire Chief Michael Duelks.

The fire was quickly extinguished, containing any fire spread to the resident's home.

Fire department members remained until the vehicle was removed from the property. No injuries were reported.
