Franklin School 5th Graders Perform "Shrek The Musical JR."

5th Graders From Franklin Elementary School in Westfield Shine In Annual Franklin Fifth Grade Show

All of our differences make us unique. That theme pervaded the third annual Fifth Grade Show at Franklin Elementary School in Westfield, Shrek The Musical JR., performed on March 2nd and 3rd.

“I’m so proud of our cast and crew for all their hard work and dedication to making this year’s show such a success,” said Emma Schwartz, Director and Producer of the Franklin School Fifth Grade Show.

The production, now an established tradition at Franklin School, begins as soon as the winter break ends, with rehearsals, set building, costume making, audio/visual technology, and learning the songs and choreography. Ronit Horowitz, Musical Director, and Gail Brickman, Choreographer, brought their talents to the production, making the show once again a success.

The cast featured Devon Brickman as Shrek, Sophia Schwartz as the Donkey, Lily Dalgliesh as Princess Fiona, Dev Daswani as Lord Farquaad, and Mia Ebel as the Dragon.

The show is funded by the Franklin School PTO. “It’s wonderful to work with the students, whose enthusiasm, hard work and devotion to the production and performance is second to none,” concluded Schwartz. “I’m also grateful to their parents, whose help is critical to the success of the performance. And, of course, we’re grateful for the ongoing support of Dr. Cambria and her staff, who together with the Franklin School community, make this such a rewarding experience for our children.”
