Greyhound Friends of NJ returns to the Westfield Armory for 18th Annual Craft Show & Pet Expo

Westfield, NJ - Greyhound Friends of NJ’s 18th Annual Craft Show & Pet Expo will return to the Westfield Armory, 500 Westfield Avenue, Rahway, NJ on November 15 and 16. Hours are on Saturday from 9am - 5pm and Sunday from 10am - 4pm. Admission is $6.00, children 12 and under are admitted free. GFNJ’s largest fundraiser of the year, this indoor event will feature over 60 vendors offering a wide variety of items for people and pets, an exciting basket raffle with over 50 prizes, a bake sale, and Santa will be visiting to pose for digital pet photos processed while you wait. Have lunch in GFNJ’s hot grill “The Grey Cafe” and pick up holiday gifts for the whole family. Leashed pets are welcomed!
The Craft Show & Pet Expo offers the public an opportunity to meet with and learn about retired racing greyhounds. Greyhound adoptions are available for pre-approved applicants at the show.

New exciting presentations this year (free with admission) include:
“A Brief History of Greys” by Pat Horan, exploring the ancient origins of the breed and their role throughout history. Saturday at 10am.

“An introduction to Spanish Galgos and Podencos” on Saturday at 1pm.
“Ick! Is that a Tick?! Pests, Parasites, and Preventatives” presented by Ellen Ganopoulos on Sunday at 11am.
Lead sponsors of this years event include NorthStar VETS of Robbinsville, NJ, SAFE/Valley Veterinary Hospital of Phoenixville, PA, Round Valley Animal Hospital of Lebanon, NJ and Abba Products Corporation of Hillside.
Proceeds from this event help defray the veterinary, operating, and transportation costs of the hundreds of greyhounds that Greyhound Friends of NJ, a non-profit 501c3 organization, welcome each year. Matching retired racers with families for more than 28 years, GFNJ provides each dog with spay/neuter surgery, updated inoculations, heartworm testing, and dental care before being placed in an adoptive home.
