Bikes Disappear In Westfield, Police Investigating

WESTFIELD, NJ — Three bicycles were reported stolen in separate incidents across Westfield over about a one-week span, according to police.

The incidents occurred between May 18 and May 23 and involved bikes taken from residential properties and an area near a local business.

In one case, a resident reported a beige Electrika bicycle was taken after being left on a front lawn. The bike was valued at about $400.

Later that same day, another bicycle was reported stolen from the area of West Elm Street near a business. The bike was described as a black Thrones Cycles model with white lettering on the frame, along with black rims and tires. A helmet valued at about $50 was also reported taken.

A third theft was reported on May 23, when a resident said a blue Schwinn “Axum Sport” mountain bike was taken from a front porch overnight. That bike was valued at about $600.

Police said the incidents are being documented as theft investigations.
