Hazardous Weather Outlook Across N.J. Ahead Of 'Heavy' Weekend Rain: NWS

The National Weather Service has issued a Hazardous Weather Outlook across New Jersey ahead of heavy rain and frequent storms expected throughout the weekend. The Hazardous Weather Outlook is in place in North Jersey, Central Jersey and South Jersey.

"Showers and thunderstorms mainly this afternoon and tonight will produce heavy rain at times, potentially leading to localized flooding," the National Weather Service said of Saturday.

Then, on Sunday, some showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon will produce "heavy rain at times, potentially leading to localized flooding."

Wet weather continues through Monday, according to the forecast.

New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

Saturday night: Showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm before 1am, then a chance of showers and thunderstorms after 1am. Some of the storms could produce heavy rainfall. Cloudy, with a low around 72. South wind 3 to 5 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

Sunday: Showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm before 11am, then showers and thunderstorms likely, mainly after 2pm. Some of the storms could produce heavy rainfall.
