Hidden Camera Found In Bathroom, Union County Chiropractor Sentenced

Gary Hecht, 55, of Livingston, was sentenced to 90 days in county jail and five years of probation.

SPRINGFIELD, NJ — A Springfield chiropractor was sentenced to 90 days in county jail after a hidden camera was found in his office's bathroom, said Union County Prosecutor William A. Daniel on Tuesday.

Gary Hecht, 55, of Livingston, pled guilty on Jan. 27 to six counts of third-degree invasion
of privacy. He was sentenced by Union County Superior Court Judge Richard Wischusen on Feb. 28.

Following the 90-day sentence, Hecht will remain on probation for five years.

On May 6, 2024, the Springfield Police Department received a report of a hidden camera discovered in a bathroom at 201 Mountain Avenue, located within Hecht Chiropractic Office.

All people who were victimized were identified during the investigation.

"Invasion of privacy is a violation of an individual’s fundamental right to privacy and security," said Daniel. "This sentence sends a clear message that such actions will not be tolerated in our community."
