How Healthy is Union County?

Union County, NJ -- Coming in as the eighth healthiest county in New Jersey is Union County, according to a study conducted by Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and the University of Wisconsin.

Union was ranked among 21 other counties in the Garden State based on a number of factors looking at the quality of life, health behaviors, clinical care available, social and economic factor and the physical environment.

What determined how Union stood above the rest can be linked to:

• Access to exercise
• Number of doctors, dentists
• Number of preventable screenings
• Number of children in poverty
• Injury deaths
• Number of people driving alone to work

Overall, Hunterdon County came in at number 1 with Cumberland County as the worst at number 21.
