Junior Musical Club of Westfield to Present Free Concert
High School Juniors and seniors perform the great works of the past 300 years -- from baroque to the modern day. Reception follows.

The Junior Musical Club of Westfield will hold its annual Upper Class Concert. The concert is open to the public free of charge. A reception will follow.
The concert is being offered to the public to recognize the graduation of our two High School Seniors: Sara Frankel of Westfield and Elizabeth Hendy of Berkeley Heights. Sara will present Johann Sebastian Bach's Prélude from his Cello Suite No. 3 in D minor on solo viola; Elizabeth will offer Bach's Sarabande from his Partita No. 2 in D minor on solo violin.
To complement the performances of the graduating Seniors, the High School Juniors in the Club will present their own pieces. Pianist Daniel Shenker (Westfield) will play the Allemande from Bach's French Suite No. 3 in B minor. Club President pianist Mira Yang (Westfield) has chosen Domenico Scarlatti's Keyboard Sonata in C Major, K. 159 and Johannes Brahms' Capriccio in G minor. Ms Yang will be joined by flutists Divya Narayanan (Scotch Plains) and Victoria Tian (Scotch Plains) to offer Léo Delibes' Flower Duet from Lakmé. Divya will also present Jacques Ibert's Pièce - for Solo Flute and Victoria will offer Georg Philipp Telemann's Allegro and Adagio from his Flute Sonata in C minor, also on solo flute.
Violinist Suraj Chandran (Edison) will play Charles-Auguste de Bériot's Scène de Ballet, Op. 100, accompanied by Carolle-Ann Mochernuk. Ms. Mochernuk will also accompany violinist Junlin Yi (Westfield) in Tomaso Antonio Vitali's Chaconne in G minor. Soprano Samantha Sprechman (Scotch Plains) will sing Kerrigan and Lowdermilk's "Say the Word" as well as Giacomo Puccini's "O mio babbino caro" (Oh My Beloved Father) from Gianni Schicchi, accompanied by Beverly Shea, piano. Mrs. Shea will also accompany cellist Marisa Li (Westfield) in Gabriel Fauré's Élégie, Op. 24.
The Junior Musical Club welcomes everyone in our communities to hear these artists perform and to join us at the reception afterwards to meet the artists and to congratulate our Seniors as they start their college careers.
