After the post, many residents shared memories, saying the shop reminded them of family holidays and wishing Brummer a happy retirement.

"This hurts my heart," wrote a female customer. "I was at the Junction as a child. Every holiday included a Brummer's box of sweet chocolatey love. As a mom I have made the pilgrimage every holiday as a continuing family tradition for my own children... I wish you all the best for your retirement and Thanks for the memories!!"
