Lori Arena, RN Joins Holy Trinity as Parish Nurse
A program the first of it's kind in Westfield
Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church in Westfield has launched a new pilot program to provide Faith-based holistic care of mind, spirit and body to its parishioners, their families, and caregivers, it was announced today by Father Anthony Randazzo, Pastor.
Lori Arena, RN will lead this new ministry as Holy Trinity’s Parish Nurse, caring for members of the Parish who are sick, elderly or disabled and those in crisis or transition at any age or stage of life. Lori will provide part time, non-invasive medical support, including needs assessments, care plan development, patient advocacy, and health education to all parishioners.
A native New Yorker and resident of Westfield for 25-years, Lori has long exhibited a passion for both nursing and for helping others. As a home care, wound care, acute care and long term care nurse, and as patient coordinator at a private surgical practice, where she created a comprehensive program to guide patients through pre- and post-operative phases of surgery, Lori has guided thousands of patients through their healthcare journeys.

Lori’s service to the community is equally impressive, having worked with numerous non-profit organizations including Westfield United Fund, Susan G. Komen Foundation, and Avon Race for a Cure. She also served as a CCD teacher and substitute school nurse in Westfield and Mountainside schools.
When asked about this appointment, Lori said, “I feel this is more than just another challenge, but actually a calling. By incorporating my years of experience and skills, I am excited to begin this ministry to perform health assessments, approach each parishioner holistically, provide guidance and education and act as a caring liaison for available resources.”

Lori received her AAS and RN degrees from Kingsborough Community College. Following the family tradition of community service, Lori’s husband of 25 years Frank Arena, a software sales director, has served on the Westfield Town Council for the past 12 years. Lori & Frank’s two children Christopher and Carli are both Westfield High School graduates and recent graduates of Auburn University and Penn State University respectively.
