Love in Action at FUMC Westfield
We hope you'll join us for worship Sundays at 10 AM as we explore our February theme of Love in Action!
Our hope at FUMC is that because of our presence in Westfield, we will be part of making our community a better place. We believe in putting love into action. We know that at times the concept of love can be convoluted and theoretical, and that it can become difficult to know how to show practical and healthy forms of love. The Judeo-Christian scriptures tell us to love our enemies, to love those who curse us, and to love others as we would want to be loved.
How do we make these religious mandates more than just printed words in a book? How do we live them? How do we put love into action? This February, we hope to glean some answers by exploring several scriptures, including Micah 6:8, which says:
“But he’s already made it plain how to live, what to do, what God is looking for in men and women. It’s quite simple: Do what is fair and just to your neighbor, be compassionate and loyal in your love, And don’t take yourself too seriously— take God seriously.” (from The Message translation).

Love in Action means relating the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the Church, our communities, and the world, and showing that reconciliation involves personal, social and civic righteousness. We hope you will join us this February as we explore practical ways to live this message of love.
