Major Redevelopment Project Gets Under Way In Union County
A long-vacant industrial site is being cleared for a major new development.
RAHWAY, NJ — A major redevelopment project is now underway in Union County, with construction beginning on a long-vacant industrial site in Rahway that is set to be transformed in the coming years.
The project is located at 349 and 389 New Brunswick Ave., where an aging 212,000-square-foot industrial building is being replaced with two modern warehouse facilities.
The redevelopment covers roughly 25 acres and is being led by Woodmont Industrial Partners in partnership with Sagard Real Estate. Construction has recently started, and the project is expected to be completed in the first quarter of 2027.

The plan calls for two separate buildings designed for warehouse and logistics use. The larger of the two will include about 201,000 square feet of warehouse space, along with approximately 3,000 square feet of office space. It will also feature 41 loading dock doors, two drive-in doors, and parking areas for trailers and vehicles.
The second building will include about 76,000 square feet of warehouse space and roughly 2,500 square feet of office space. Plans also include eight loading dock doors, one drive-in door, and additional parking.
