Man Charged In Fatal Union County Shooting: Prosecutor

Daymon Duncan-Wilson has been charged with first degree murder, officials said.

UNION COUNTY, NJ - A 27-year-old Passaic man is responsible for the fatal shooting of a Linden man over the summer, according to acting Union County Prosecutor Lyndsay V. Ruotolo.

Daymon Duncan-Wilson has been taken into custody and charged with first-degree murder and two related second-degree weapons offenses in connection with the death of 25-year-old Saquan Hurling of Linden, Ruotolo said.

Rahway Police Department patrol units responding to the 500 block of Harrison Street on the morning of Saturday, June 29 found Hurling’s body in a vehicle at that location, according to Union County Homicide Task Force Supervisor Scott M. Peterson, who is prosecuting the case.

Hurling was pronounced dead at the scene.

A joint investigation by the Task Force, Rahway Police Department, Union County Sheriff’s Office Crime Scene Unit, and Union County Police Department Ballistics Unit resulted in Duncan-Wilson's arrest, officials said.

Members of the U.S. Marshals Service arrested Duncan-Wilson Wednesday morning in Jersey City, and he was subsequently transported to Union County Jail to await a first appearance and detention hearing scheduled to take place in Superior Court.

Convictions on murder charges are commonly punishable by terms of 30 years to life in state prison, officials said.
