Man Trapped Under Car, Dies After Electric Scooter Crash In Union County
Linden Firefighters quickly lifted the vehicle to free the Roselle man, who was pronounced dead a short time later, said police.
LINDEN, NJ — A Roselle man who was riding an electric scooter was killed in a crash on Wednesday afternoon, Linden Police said.
The accident happened just after 2:30 p.m., Linden Police said. Officers went to the intersection of N. Wood Avenue and Gibbons Street on reports of a serious motor vehicle crash.
Officers found the victim trapped beneath the car. Linden Firefighters quickly lifted the vehicle to free the victim, who was later pronounced dead at Robert Wood Johnson Barnabas Health Rahway Hospital.

Initial reports show that the car was driving south on N. Wood Avenue and trying to make a left turn onto E. Gibbons Street when it collided with the victim, who was going south on an electric scooter in the northbound lanes, said police.
The driver of the car was not injured in the crash.

N. Wood Avenue has since been reopened. The crash remains under investigation by the Linden Police Traffic Bureau.
