Middle School Students at Congregation Beth Israel Compete in "Chopped"-Style Competition

Description of activities at synagogue youth group

Middle school students in Congregation Beth Israel's youth group, Kadima, competed in a “Chopped”-style competition at their monthly meeting on February 22 at the synagogue in Scotch Plains. Using a variety of interesting foods, the teams created delicacies with themes related to the upcoming Jewish holiday of Purim. Kadima is the international youth organization for Jewish pre-teens in grades six through eight, sponsored by the United Synagogue of Conservative Judaism. Congregation Beth Israel's Kadima chapter meets one Wednesday and one Sunday each month, and offers pre-teens social, cultural and community outreach opportunities.
