Mother Seton Hosts Blood Drive for Students, Parents and Alumnae

Mother Seton Regional High School, Clark, NJ hosted its annual blood drive on March 26th with 52 participants donating 34 units of blood. The donation center was set up in the gymnasium and student donors, as well as parents and alumnae, stopped in between the hours of 8:30 am and 12:30 pm to provide their donation. The school’s annual blood drive is open to current students 16 years and older (with parent’s permission), parents and alumnae.

Mrs. Rose Puleo, RN at Mother Seton Regional High School, coordinated the effort with New Jersey Blood Services and asked that potential donors prepare by “eating right, staying hydrated and getting plenty of rest the day before the blood drive donation.” Mrs. Puleo added “our health class curriculum educates our students on the importance of blood donation and is also adding CPR certification as part of our health curriculum for all juniors.”

We are very proud to continue our Blood Drive efforts and look forward to adding more donors to next year’s event. Each pint of donated blood saves 3 lives, according to the NJ Blood Bank.
