N.J. Democratic Consultant Says 'Hunt Republicans,' Despite Shooting
A N.J. Democratic consultant says he won't apologize for posts that say "hunt Republican congressman," despite the recent shooting.
A Democratic consultant from Union County says he won't apologize for posts that say "hunt Republican congressman," despite the shooting that took place at an Alexandria baseball field that apparently targeted GOP congressmen.
James Devine, who was a strong supporter of Bernie Sanders's presidential campaign, has been unapologetically trolling people who have called on him to stop the attacks - and using stronger language to criticize him - after he's published Facebook several posts with the hashtags #HuntRepublicans and #HuntRepublicanCongressmen.
Monmouth Musings, a publications that addresses news events in Monmouth County, took particular issue with Devine declaring that Democrats are “in a war” with Republicans, saying: "New Jersey Democrats will hopefully condemn Devine as a disturbed whack job…which a great case can be made for."

Devine, in response, said: "I am terribly sorry for any sad GOP snowflakes whose feelings got hurt by my hashtag #HuntRepublicans but I am only registering complaints from those who also responded when Sarah Palin put crosshairs on Democrat Gabby Giffords or when dittoheads posted images of Barack Obama being lynched."
He also took issue with the creation of a "liberal hunting permit," saying "The 'liberal hunting permit' along with similar imagery and rhetoric are examples of 'dishing it out' and I intend to make sure those folks learn what it means to 'take it' because while I have tried extinguishing flames with water it seems there are occasions when you must fight fire with fire."
