New Clothing Boutique Is A 'Labor Of Love' For Westfield Owner
Lisa Wachter previously owned "Fashion Plate" on Route 22 in Hunterdon County before opening "Cachet Boutique" in Westfield.
WESTFIELD, NJ — Fashion has always been a passion for Lisa Wachter who recently opened her new store "Cachet Boutique" in Downtown Westfield.
"When you love what you can do for a living, it doesn't feel like work. Not many people can say that," said Wachter.
Wachter of Monmouth County held a grand opening and ribbon cutting for her boutique on May 15 at 112 Central Ave. in Westfield across from Starbucks.

"This women’s clothing store with its distinctive brands is certain to become a downtown destination. Be sure to stop by and welcome proud owner Lisa to Westfield!" said Mayor Shelley Brindle.
Her boutique offers unique clothing for women from their 20s through their 80s and missy sizes from size 2 to 16.

"I like to only buy from vendors who only sell to specialty stores and not to department stores. People don't want to look like the person next door. They want to look unique," said Wachter.
Wachter previously worked in a garment center in New York City on the wholesale side before opening a boutique in Hunterdon County. She then moved the boutique called "Fashion Plate" onto Route 22 in Whitehouse Station.
She ended up closing the boutique after having her second child. However, she felt the pull to return to fashion and opened a Cachet location in Metuchen before moving to Westfield.
"It's been amazing. It's been so much better than I thought it would even be. People have been thanking me multiple times a day," said Wachter. "When Lord & Taylor closed, nobody opened up to fill that void."
Wachter invites shoppers to stop in as she is always bringing in new products every week.
