New Later School Start Times In Westfield Approved
The new start and end times impact elementary, intermediate, and high school students in Westfield.
WESTFIELD, NJ — New school day times for Westfield schools, which include a later start for students, were unanimously approved by the Board of Education(BOE).
The new start and end times for the 2025-26 and 2026-27 school years were approved at the Jan. 21 BOE meeting.
"Under policy 8220 the start and end times for regular school day as well as delayed openings and early dismissals require annual Board approval," said Board member Kristen Sonnek-Schmelz at the meeting. "The updated start and end times were carefully developed to align with the new master schedules for the intermediate and high schools."
