One Dead Following Shooting In Elizabeth
Police are investigating the fatal shooting of an Elizabeth resident on Tuesday.

ELIZABETH, NJ — Police are investigating the fatal shooting of an Elizabeth resident on Tuesday, Acting Union County Prosecutor Grace H. Park announced.
The victim has been identified as 28-year-old Michael Eargle.
Eargle was found in the 1800 block of Lafayette Street by Elizabeth Police after a report of shots being fired shortly after 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Eargle was pronounced dead at the scene a short while later, Park said.

This matter remains under active joint investigation by the Union County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide Task Force, Elizabeth Police Department, Union County Sheriff’s Office Crime Scene Unit, and Union County Police Department Ballistics Unit.
