Pandemonium broke out at a New Jersey shopping center when someone yelled that shots had been fired, officials said.
It turns out that it was a fight that broke out at The Mills at Jersey Gardens on Monday evening, and a chair was thrown that - when it landed - sounded like a gunshot, according to a spokeswoman from Elizabeth.
An eight-year-old child had a cut finger, and videos on social media showed people rushing out into the parking lot around 6 p.m.
