WESTFIELD, NJ — "Let's get inclusive on the ice!" reads an announcement on Facebook from the Westfield Recreation Department. The post is meant to invite special needs kids 12 and under for a free ice skating lesson on Monday, Martin Luther King Day, Jan. 20.

Mayor Shelley Brindle encouraged family members and friends to sign up those with special needs as well.

The event is "open to children of all abilities and backgrounds" and is sponsored by the Westfield Hockey Club.
